Are deodorant and Burts bees lip balm considered liquids according to the TSA 311 rule?

Yes actually they are allowed. One my flight to New Orleans a few weeks ago, I was carrying on a deodorant and it was in gel form, and I had it there to show them, but they said it was ok. Deodorant does fall under the 311 rule unless its in stick form. Stick deodorant is fine to take on an airplane, and the spray kind you can take as much in your checked bags as you want and only 3.4oz in your carry on. And no Burts Bees lip balm is not apart of the 311 rule.
Rather than depend on answers from strangers, particularly when the rules change now and then, it would be more reliable to check out the rules at the ';horse's mouth'; by going to the TSA web site, which is www.tsa.gov.
