I have very oily skin and I want to know what to do to make my foundation look less cakey and more glowy/natural.How do I achieve natural looking foundation?
Use a foundation primer, use a good foundation which is applied with a foundation brush - set with powder.
Here are some products that have had good reviews;
PRIMERS
Evens out skin tone and enables foundation to sit on top of the skin rather than melting into expression lines and accentuating exactly what we're trying to disguise.
Rimmel Makeup Primer
Sephora Skin Smoothing Makeup Base (said to really make a difference)
Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer
FOUNDATIONS
Here are a few that claim to give a luminous look and have had good reviews. Remember to use a primer and apply with a foundation brush for a flawless finish.
Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturising
Revlon Colourstay
Rimmel Lasting Finish
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation (Won the Times Beauty Award 2008)
Clarins True Radiance
Sephora Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation (a few users claimed their skin looked air brushed)How do I achieve natural looking foundation?
try powder foundation then translucent powder. but to be sure, try going to a department store and ask a makeup speacilist there and they can point you in the right direction
edit: i just watched a what not to wear episode and when they did the makeup the person said for oily skin use a mattifying gel before you put on makeup
try using a brush to apply your foundation. then put a light coat of powder over it to keep from getting oily.
neutrogena's shine removing oil blotting sheets are great- they help control shine and are easy to carry around in your purse
